Peer Advising

Sociology Peer Advisors are upper-year undergraduate students who have been trained by the department to assist students majoring or considering majoring in Sociology or minoring in Family Studies. They are accessible through e-mail and office hours to answer questions about course planning, degree requirements, how to effectively write Sociology papers, how to sharpen your exam-taking skills, and many more issues that you may face over the course of the year. They also offer suggestions for involvement within the Sociology department and how to take advantage of all the opportunities we offer. As Advisors, their aim is to help students have a successful undergraduate experience within UBC Sociology.
