About me, you say?
Well. My name is Sofie, and I have made 24 trips around the sun. I am currently a student at the University of British Columbia where I am in my 3rd year of an Arts undergrad in Geography, majoring in Environment and Sustainability. So far, so good!
I am proud to say that I grew up on the North Shore in Vancouver. I am also proud to be Danish! I was born in Denmark, and have spent many summers there with family, as well as a high school year on exchange in a little town on the west coast of Denmark, a year working and travelling in Denmark, and another two years at Copenhagen Business School. It turned out that business school was not my cup of tea, and after a summer back in Vancouver a few years ago, I found myself changing things up and moving back to pursue a degree in Geography at UBC. I could not be happier about it. As of right now, I am not exactly sure what type of job I’d like to pursue in the future. However, I have found that my interest has gravitated towards disaster relief and making meaningful contributions to human and biodiversity security in general, especially as the effects of climate change are increasingly threatening many of the world’s most vulnerable inhabitants and ecosystems.
When I’m not in school or doing school-related things, I am making the most of what the North Shore has to offer: lush, green forests; majestic mountains; wonderful people; and a plethora of outdoor activities. Every day I spend outside in Vancouver is a day that I feel blessed to live somewhere as amazing as this city. I am truly passionate about making sure our incredible and diverse Earth receives the care and respect that is deserved.
I hope to use this portfolio as a channel to showcase some of my accomplishments, as well as use it as a means for me to communicate my perspectives and progress in my academic endeavours.
Thanks for following along!
