Formal written observations this week were completed by:

Who? (FA or SA Name) Date Class
Mrs. Bisset March 8 Gr. 10
FA Elaine Barr March 9 Gr. 10

Areas of focus this week:

  • Use of wait time before speaking
  • Adapting drills to challenge high performance athletes
  • Classroom management: stating and reinforcing expectations, proximity, eye scan, use of low intervention techniques.

What I felt good about:

  • Receiving student feedback in adapting the GPAI peer-assessment to fit the needs of the classroom.
  • GPAI structure and patterning two students to peer feedback one student. In addition, allowing students to continue to modify the GPAI for effectiveness of growth and development.
  •  Listening to students feedback and providing positive reinforcement to praise students progress and development.
  • Use of waiting time before speaking.
  • Dice relay in having drills that challenge the needs of every student and varying types of groupings that challenge competitive students.
  • Student leadership and giving students jobs and responsibilities with equipment management.
  • Contacting parents in terms of interim reports and classroom expectations.
  • Proximity in opening classroom goals and objectives and outlining the expectations effectively.

What I want to work to improve:

  • Consistency within classroom management with clear transitions for students to know where to go next.
  • Running demos longer for a better clarification of goals and objectives.
