Formal written observations this week were completed by:
Who? (FA or SA Name) | Date | Class |
Mrs. Bisset | March 8 | Gr. 10 |
FA Elaine Barr | March 9 | Gr. 10 |
Areas of focus this week:
- Use of wait time before speaking
- Adapting drills to challenge high performance athletes
- Classroom management: stating and reinforcing expectations, proximity, eye scan, use of low intervention techniques.
What I felt good about:
- Receiving student feedback in adapting the GPAI peer-assessment to fit the needs of the classroom.
- GPAI structure and patterning two students to peer feedback one student. In addition, allowing students to continue to modify the GPAI for effectiveness of growth and development.
- Listening to students feedback and providing positive reinforcement to praise students progress and development.
- Use of waiting time before speaking.
- Dice relay in having drills that challenge the needs of every student and varying types of groupings that challenge competitive students.
- Student leadership and giving students jobs and responsibilities with equipment management.
- Contacting parents in terms of interim reports and classroom expectations.
- Proximity in opening classroom goals and objectives and outlining the expectations effectively.
What I want to work to improve:
- Consistency within classroom management with clear transitions for students to know where to go next.
- Running demos longer for a better clarification of goals and objectives.
