Who Am I?
I have recently completed my bachelor’s of Education from the University of British Columbia with a diploma in Special Education. Since September of 2018 I have been working as an elementary resource teacher for the school district of Langley in British Columbia. As a first-year teacher this has been a huge learning curve as the job itself is composed of lots of diversity. The best part of my job is providing opportunities for my students to be successful in their learning and figuring out how to best support their individual needs.
My current Career Journey
Throughout the journey of my life experience I was able to learn about the meaning of inclusion and the ability to allow diversity in the community. This is one of the reasons that got me to encounter an educational journey in where I’m able to use my strengths and passions to foster an impact in the lives of students. Thru my passion in sports I want to create an environment in where students are able to enjoy their individual strengths and use them in their core competencies such as communication, thinking, and personal & social skills. Furthermore, thru my teachable able area in physical and health education and special education, I want to allow diversity in my classroom and enjoy participation in way that embodies respecting the rights and feelings of others, leadership, and helping others. Overall my philosophy of education is a continuous process that will embody my experiences with students and will change over time.
