In recently years physical and health education has been measure by mastering a task instead of measuring growth and development. This has inspired my inquiry question and has allowed me to research different correlations that focuses on motivation and significance of increasing self-esteem. My inquiry question focuses on how can we foster different learning strategies that enhances motivation and self-esteem in students through physical literacy. This topic is important because it provides alternative pedagogical strategies that focuses on student engagement and student participation. The methods that this inquiry question will be focusing on is using different physical and health education models that allow students to experience physical education in a creative manner. Teaching games and for understanding (TGFU) and the Sport Education will be use throughout the different units in my 10-week practicum. In addition, different formative assessment strategies will be focusing on collecting student growth and developing and will be collected in a form a student portfolio in where it will measure the summative feedback at the end of the unit. The significance of using this strategies as the links to practice is to promote physical literacy among students who are unmotivated and students who lack engagement and participation. In summary, different open-door policies will be implemented in where students can come and talk to me and provide feedback in where it can allow me to identify whether students are enjoying the different activities or it will provide me feedback to modify different activities. In conclusion, my future directions is to continue to encounter different learning strategies with students with learning disabilities or different exceptionalities that can promote diversity and inclusivity.
