My Inquiry Journey to date

Inquiry I

  • 1) Personal experience
    • PE was assess through skill acquisition / performance based
    • Varsity Athletes dominated the class.
  • Inquiry Question —>Significance of my question
    • To find motivation strategies that could increase self-esteem and student participation
    • To meet the core competencies and the big ideas of the BC curriculum
  • Short-practicum experience
    • Observe different classes/ different classroom management styles
    • Taught Gr. 9 & 1o PHE classes
    • Assessment through observation / peer-assessment
    • Plan and develop unit plans for my upcoming practicum

Inquiry II

My inquiry journey to date stands by implementing my annotated bibliography research into my inquiry question. Based on the evidence based research, I have updated my lesson plans in a way that would follow the evidence being study with the hope that motivation would increase through different assessment strategies.

The next step is to implement my lesson plan through:

  1. TGFU model
  2. Sports Ed model
  3.  Formative assessment strategies into my long-practicum and see the results whether the different assessment strategies would enhance motivation and self-esteem in students through physical literacy.
  4. Open Door Policy (Idea Box/ Feedback )
