Synopsis:

“Classroom Management: Creating a positive learning environment” is a book that touches on a variety of different key aspects that contribute to creating a positive classroom environment, such as: approaches to students misbehaviour, promoting positive peer relationships, and working with parents to establish a positive classroom environment, to name a few. Each chapter presents the topic and goes into further discussion using real life scenarios from schools and by proposing strategies to target our classroom objectives. For example, the chapter on parent-teacher relationships discusses things like diverse cultural backgrounds, and strategies for connecting with different types of parents.

My Critical Reflection:

What I liked the most about this book is the way it is organized. Each chapter lays out clear learning objectives for the reader, includes case studies to illustrate the issue at hand, provides discussion questions to encourage critical thinking on the topic, and finally has strategies that educators can use to deal with varying situations.
