Examen I: miércoles 4 de octubre

As indicated in the schedule,  the Examen parcial I will be held next week on October 4th Please try and arrive 5 minutes early to our regularly scheduled classroom that day.  You may begin writing as soon as I hand out the midterms.

I suggest you bring a pencil or white-out/corrector so that you can erase your mistakes. The format is very similar to 101/102 exams.  It will include all information from Chapter  2 listed on the syllabus; including both direct and indirect object pronouns, and the vocabulary list which I emailed out from Chapter 1.

CONTENT FOR 201 EXAM I: Students are expected to: I) PARTE I  (approx. 1/3) – Fill in the blanks in situations where they have to use:

  1. ¿Ser vs. Estar?
  2. Los adjetivos posesivos
  3. Los pronombres posesivos
  4. El pretérito
  5. Conteste las siguientes preguntas en EL PRESENTE DE INDICATIVO reemplazando las palabras en cursiva por los pronombres de COMPLEMENTO DIRECTO, COMPLEMENTO INDIRECTO o LOS DOS (both).   (pp. 12, 21, 23, 55-57)
  6. ¿Tienes las tarjetas postales?   No, no _________________________.

¿Me mandas unas tarjetas postales?  Sí, _____________________________

¿Nos compras una torta de chocolate?  Sí ____________________________.

?Quién te escribe los correos electrónicos?  _____________________.

 

 

PARTE II  (approx. 1/3): UN DIALOGO O UN PARRAFO: You may be asked to write an original párrafo / diálogo in Spanish using the active vocabulary and grammar points from chapters 1 & 2.  Min. 75 words.

 

You will be given 2 options in this section.

  1. a) One option will include the Imperfect& Preterit
  2. b) The second option will use the present indicative

 

Remember to keep in mind:  Content, Flow, Degree of Difficulty, Originality and Grammar in the target language.  Overly simplistic paragraphs / dialogs will NOT receive top marks.

 

PARTE III (approx. 1/3):

Translate into Spanish. This section is text-specific and comprises the translation into Spanish of short situations or paragraphs similar to those we practice in class [with Práctica de Traducción I].  This section is also all inclusive in terms of vocabulary and grammar structures that were covered in class – see syllabus. Knowledge of the specific vocabulary of these lessons is very important!
