I have been interested in nutrition and food for my whole life, knowing I wanted to study Dietetics since I was little. I believe that food has such an important role in society and our everyday life’s that we seem to take for granite. It is hard to understand how beneficial food can be when we stop getting so caught up over eating a dessert or hating our weight. Healthy eating is not about being the skinniest or never touching bread, its about a healthy lifestyle incorporating moderation into your diet, through various foods.

Too much of anything can always be harmful, even if its celery… and although celery, (ants on a log anyone? is delicious, what fun would it be to only eat celery for the rest of our lives?

I started my journey to nutrition and a change in life style way back in about grade 8 or so, which was a rough time of my life. I was very insecure and looked towards food as an escape. Maybe if I was skinnier I would be prettier, maybe if I take protein powder I will look like a model. Soon I realized what does it mean to ‘look like a model?’ and why do I want to look like this? You are beautiful the way you are, tell yourself that everyday until you believe it, then keep on saying it everyday after. Food is a nutritional tool, helping us meet our goals and be the most efficient we can be in terms of energy and happiness.

My goal is to show everyone that you can cook at home, on your own even if time is limited. Whether you work full time or don’t work at all, are in school or have 12 kids, a healthy life is a happy life and a nutrition really begins in the kitchen. Everyone has the ability to adapt to a healthy lifestyle by understanding foods healing properties, and by starting to experiment with flavors Who knows what combinations and cool ideas can be found when the imagination is used?

Right now, I am studying at UBC for the Dietetics Program, working towards one day being able to fulfill my dream of being a Registered Dietitian. Since I am currently in school, I think it would be interesting to connect school to what I put on my website, allowing me to teach you, what I am learning as well! For that reason on my ‘TIPS N’ TRICKS’ section, you will be able to find relevant nutrition information, as well as any tips I have towards getting involved in a healthy lifestyle and some even natural beauty tips, facials and anything else that I find interesting!

Follow me for nutrition advice, daily routines, workouts and most importantly….
