A. Goal
General: – To integrate technology more thoroughly in cross-curricular ways to support the needs of all students. In doing so, the we can gradually make progress through the Substitution Augmentation Modification Redefinition Model (SAMR) moving away from substitution towards the redefinition stage.
- To develop units and lesson plans that support the development of multiliteracies, blending key literacy skills in reading, writing, listening, and oral language.
- To develop the students’ skills needed to navigate through computers, iPads, and iPad apps in appropriate ways.
- To develop an assessment program that blends formative and summative assessment using technology.
B. Areas of Focus
General: – The following applies to number 1-3 above.
- Step-by-step, creation of specific curriculum.
- Guidelines to be printed and given to students and any administrative leaders available to help with technology assistance.
- Research and get in contact with funding resources such as SETBC and BC Technology for Learning Society.
C. Areas of Focus
- Field trip to the Mac store giving students the opportunity to learn about how to naviage through Apple products.
- Skype sessions to communicate with international pen pal classes.
- Incorporate Scribjab, a multilingual tool that allows students to share stories in different languages.
D. Professional Growth Plan Involvement
- Professional development attendance regarding technology in the classroom.
- Yvonne Dawdiak’s UBC Digital Sandbox sessions.
- Computers for Schools (CFS).
E. Self Evaluation
- Creation of multilingual and multimodal story for summative assessment of Scribjab project.
- Students will peer evaluate each others’ projects.
