Interaction Designer – Langara College (Apr 2015 – Present)

  • Lead UI designer and usability guru for all College digital communications products
  • Visualizes, proposes, and designs progressive enhancements on Langara College digital products including external facing marketing website, internal sites, iOS apps, and embedded interfaces
  • Leads usability efforts, including research design, field observations, task analysis, usability testing, competitor analysis, and stakeholder and user interviews
  • Provides design and UX solutions in collaboration with IT staff, clients, and vendors
  • Develops new standards and design templates for on-campus digital signage and email newsletter marketing

Digital Production Artist – Langara College (Apr 2009 – Apr 2015)

  • Led design and production of innovative Langara College iOS app – first app among BC colleges (2009)
  • Concept development, redesign, and production of Domestic and International Viewbooks
  • Designed and developed large-scale, integrated environmental signage projects: 601 Broadway and Richmond campus, Library Learning Commons, IT Service Desk, Student Engagement Centre, Foundation Donor Wall, and pop-up installations using AutoPoles
  • Led visual identity and rebrand of CAPER BC (Centre for Accessible Post-secondary Education Resources): new logo and wordmark, accessible colour guide, print collateral, and wrote visual identity guidelines.
  • Art direction and creative execution of high-profile event campaign materials: TEDxLangara, Olympic Torch Relay event, Holiday Art Auction, ‘Pop-up Gallery’
  • Art direction and creative execution of award-winning ‘Next Stop… Langara College’ and ‘Transfer Point to University’ Campaigns. Original imagery, taglines, and marketing strategy.     • UI design of graphical Tabata timer. 10,000+ iOS and 30,000+ Android downloads in 3 months.
