Faculty Guides and Resources
Step-by-step guides
As part of my support staff role I have created (and continue to create) a series of step-by-step guides for faculty. Guides include a narrated video and a fully accessible PDF document with photos. Two examples can be found below.

Faculty Orientation Course
Primarily directed towards our 25+ new faculty a year, although also used by our long term faculty as a resource, this course houses much of the information about our department. It is a work in progress as I add to it each term.
The course is housed on Fanshawe’s learning management system, but below is a brief video tour of the course and the type of information it contains.
Conference and Research Presentations
During my time at Fanshawe, I have been able to present initiatives from our department at 3 major conferences.
- Re-using & Remixing: Instructional Design Templates on a Budget – Advancing Learning, 2018
- Blending on a Budget – Global Summit and Ed Tech Expo: Teaching and Learning in the Digital Age, 2018
- Educating, Engaging, and Empowering through Collaboration: One College’s Approach to Institutional Growth of Online Learning. – World Conference on Online Learning, ICDE 2017
I was also part of a selective PD program at the College, in which my group undertook research about an element of the College and presented our findings to members of the Senior Leadership Team.
Course Sample – A Century of Genocide
I am also a member of Fanshawe College’s teaching staff, teaching a general education elective each term.
I developed this course, A Century of Genocide, from the ground up, identifying the learning objectives, course progression and assignments, and wrote/sourced the content. Since its original offering the course has been offered four times and is well received by students looking to fill their elective credit. The course is housed on Fanshawe’s learning management system, but below you can find a guided tour of course highlights.
