Hi Everyone!
My name is Kari Matusiak. This is my 8th (?) MET course and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. To speed this train up I am attempting to take two courses this semester which I hear is brutal. So here goes.
By day I am an instructional designer with Pearson Educations online management program. I consult with faculty and help them to design pedagogically effective courseware. I get ‘farmed’ out to all sorts of programs from Law to Nursing, but all in higher education. Prior to this I worked closely with STEM faculty in higher education to help integrate digital technologies into their curriculum. So I am quite interested in best practices in STEM/digital learning!
I work from home 100% (and obviously MET is online) so whenever I can I try to escape the confines of the computer screen and get out to run/hike/ski/snowshoe in my backyard.
Looking forward to learning with you all.
Cheers,
Kari
Hi Kari,
I absolutely love North Vancouver. When I was living in Vancouver, I would try to escape the city life as often as possible. My favorite things do to would be hiking or snowshoeing in the beautiful mountain areas.
I am also attempting two courses this semester and am a little nervous. Wishing both of us luck in keeping up with the demands of both courses.
I look forward to learning with you.
Nicole
Hi Kari,
So nice to meet another North Shore resident on here. I’m teaching and living in West Van but born in Edgemont Village. All the best with the start of the semester! Keep me in mind if you are tired of doing group work over google hangouts!
Bryn
Hi Bryne – sorry I missed this! I don’t think this course has any group work otherwise I would 100% be on board. I legitimately miss F2F work with classmates!
