About

Thanks for having a look at Cash Cows and Bow Wows, my marketing blog. I’m Stephanie Lai, a comm 296 student. The (somewhat silly) title references a popular portfolio analysis method thought up by BCG – go to page 38 in the text to find out more.

As for me, well, there’s not that much to know. That’s me on the right, after making it to the top of Spencer Butte (Oregon)! Although I suspect if I was given free rein to blab about myself, I would do so for an obnoxious amount of pages. Most people would, I think. I enjoy reading, and some of my favourite authors (that I can remember off the top of my head) are Terry Pratchett and Philip Pullman.

Other normal hobbies: music, very amateur photography, a little writing, some cycling, and ultimate frisbee whenever I’m invited (hint, hint). I like observing things and people around me – for instance, there was one guy I spotted on the bus who dressed and looked like a more unpolished, twitchy version of Chuck Bass (for those of you who live under a large rock, he’s a character from the tv show “Gossip Girl”). Outside of school I’m also a PT sales associate with a clothing store, which is interesting when I can make connections between work and concepts from marketing class.
