Hello world!
Sep 21st, 2008 by Stephen Hawkins-Bogle
My name is Stephen Hawkins and welcome to my blog site for course reflections at UBC. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Educational Technology program at UBC and am taking the following two courses: ETEC 511 (Foundations of Educational Technology) and ETEC 521 (Indigeneity, Technology, and Education). I will be using this medium to comment on the coursework I am completing and resources that I have found useful to my studies.
I am currently teaching for School District #27 (Cariboo Chilcotin) at Dog Creek Elementary/Junior School. I teach science and math for grades 4-10 and I am the primary teacher for grades 8-10. Dog Creek is in the Cariboo on the East side of the Fraser River and is home to the youngest basaltic volcanic formations in BC. The community here is Secwepemc (Shuswap) of the Canoe Creek Band. Teaching at Dog Creek is truly a enriching experience where community connections are prevalent and cultural traditions are practiced.
I am looking forward to communicating with you all via this blog site.
Be well,
Stephen Hawkins
