Welcome! This blog is an ePortfolio of work I have done throughout GEOB 270, Introduction to Geographic Information Science (GISc).
As a geography student, Introduction to Geographic Information Systems stimulated my interests in urban planning and sustainable development, as well as giving me practical tools for data processing and analysis that I will continue to use in future research. Using ESRI software and the scientific methods taught in GIS to solve problems in environmental, social, and hazard geography, I gained a critical overview and a skillset relevant to the fields of public policy, environmental assessment work, and land use planning. I adapted to working with vast quantities of data in both an individual and team environment, allowing me to gain project management skills, graphic design skills for mapping, and the ability to lead and direct a team in a research direction.
