Join us on Tuesday, September 29th at 5pm to listen to UBC ATSC Grad Tim chat to us over zoom!
“I graduated with a BSc. In the atmospheric science program from UBC in 2017. Since then I have worked in several positions across western Canada. I first started out working as a wildfire forecaster for the Government of Saskatchewan, where I gave briefings, wrote forecasts to help aid wildfire suppression and manage Saskatchewan’s vast boreal forest. I also worked as a hydro-meteorologist for BC Hydro, associated with Roland Stull’s team, and now work as meteorologist for a power trading company that buys and sells commodities across Canada and the US. In addition I have also worked in co-op positions at Environment Canada, and the City of Kelowna doing various projects in meteorology. If you are interested in pursuing a career in this diversified field, I can share some of my experiences and what type of atmosphere you can expect if you choose this career path.”
Meeting details to follow! This is a great opportunity to ask an ATSC grad any questions you have about working in the real world.
