I am currently teaching at the Canadian International School of Beijing in Beijing, China. I teach grades 8 – 10 technology. I began the Master of Educational Technology program in January 2008. I have completed six courses in the MET program and am working on seven and eight now. I plan to take text technologies and the seminar course in September. Through the MET program, I intend to build upon and study new theories of learning, to examine models of instructional design, and to gain valuable experience incorporating theory with practice. These goals include incorporating teaching and learning methods, such as direct instruction, concept teaching, cooperative learning, and problem-based learning, with a wide range of research methods, to further develop technology-based learning both in the traditional classroom setting and on-line.
