{"id":83,"date":"2011-03-13T15:48:36","date_gmt":"2011-03-13T23:48:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/subc\/?p=83"},"modified":"2011-03-13T15:48:36","modified_gmt":"2011-03-13T23:48:36","slug":"fairing-the-hull","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/subc\/2011\/03\/13\/fairing-the-hull\/","title":{"rendered":"Fairing the Hull"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So at this point we are nearly one full can of Bondo into the particularly dusty step of fairing the hull.\u00a0 The first half of the hull is coming along quite nicely and the second half &#8211; although it still needs some work &#8211; should hopefully be following suit as soon as we get a warm(er), dry day.<\/p>\n<p>More good news, <abbr class='c2c-text-hover' title='UBC&#039;s Human Powered Submarine Team'>SUBC<\/abbr> managed to acquire sponsorship from CD-adapco, who have graciously offered to supply the team with several licenses for STAR-CCM+. With this powerful fluid dynamics software the team can now work on designing more efficient control surfaces and propulsion systems.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, we are hoping to have a booth at this years upcoming E-fest at Vancouver Public Library.
