Hi! I am a third-year UBC undergraduate international student Suki Tam. My major is Human Geography and will be graduating in 2018. I was born in Hong Kong and can speak in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. I completed my college education in 2012 and worked for an education centre. Then, I decided to come University of British Columbia to conduct my undergraduate studies. I was admitted to the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus and then transferred to Vancouver campus. I was enjoying to study in UBCO because of the unique and beautiful natural environment in Kelowna. Besides, the staff and colleagues in UBCO are very kindly and helpful too. Human Geography is an important discipline to allow us learn and understand about the relationship between human and the environment and how they interact together to change our landscapes or affect human behavior. Geographers How do we balance all desires of different stakeholders to maintain our economic, sustainable social and environmental development in the moment and the future for our next generations. We, human geographers can make contributions to the private and public sectors. And I am interested in urban development and city planning in order to provide and establish a better living community for our next generations. My future career goal is that I wish I can work in non-government organization such as the United Nations to work for the less developed countries in order to help them have a better city environment for living.
