Fenge Yang has an excellent argument towards this article. Based on her opinion, I want to add some extra points. In my opinion, the launch of this peer-to-peer payment service is too late since many other companies already have similar services in the market. This situation is not good for the expand of Apple’s service unless it is distinctive and customers can easily differentiate it from other similar services. However, to be different is hard. What’s more, Apple’s peer-to-peer payment service has a big limitation because this service can only be used on apple products. However, in the whole world, lots of people do not use iPhone or Apple Watch, so that means many people cannot use this payment service even it is good. By contrast, Facebook messenger and WeChat can be installed in any brands of smartphones, enlarging their consumer groups, but Apple’s peer-to-peer payment service does not have this advantage. Overall, in my opinion, maybe this service will not be that successful than it is expected to be.

I totally agree with you. This seems like a scam to the public since these companies claim that they will recycle those stuff, but actually they do not. Environmental sustainability is the main issue that the whole world are concerned. As a company who provides good and services to consumers and has a big influence in society should set a good example to people instead of cheating.
Tim Horton and Starbucks should take social responsibility by avoiding waste and reducing wages. As you already mentioned that they can apply porcelain mugs to customers who don’t need to take-out cup, they can also make their cups more environmentally friendly, that means these companies can use more “green” materials to make those cups easier to be disposed. What’s more, some environmental institutions and organizations should have the heavy supervision towards these companies. With those companies’ awareness and social supervision, I believe the situation will be better.
