In addition to catching up on the things we didn’t get to in the first two lectures, in this lecture\u00a0we \u00a0we\u00a0conduct a detailed case study of confirmationals across languages. I report on the similarities and difference we find identifying several key parameters of variation. While some of these parameters can be modelled successfully within the framework I propose, others still await formalization.<\/p>\n

We will also explore some of the discourse markers in Basque, Catalan, and Spanish you have identified on the first Day. We’ll try and create some story boards for them. And we’ll try and see whether these languages also have confirmationals, and if so, what their properties are.<\/p>\n
