outcomes of the SEI

by Sarah Nyrose ~ November 6th, 2009

It’s been nearly 5 months since TAG hosted the first Sustainability Education Intensive (SEI) here on the UBC campus. Over the course of 2.5 days, 23 enthusiastic and innovative educators worked collaboratively to develop personalized Sustainability Education Plans, aimed at enhancing sustainability in their course, program or initiative.  It is exciting to witness the development of each plan and their implementation.   On January 11th, 2010 from 9:45- 4pm, SEI participants will be showcasing their Sustainability Education Plans and the outcomes of their work. We would like to extend an invitation to everyone in the community to join us in the celebration of these innovative and creative initiatives.

Another spectacular outcome of the SEI was the creation of a short film on Sustainability Education by the goBeyond project. This video documents both the UBC Sustainability Education Intensive and BCIT Pacific Spirit Project. A huge round of applause to goBeyond for creating an amazing video that captures the highlights of these two events and the need for further support for Sustainability Education!
