WELCOME

The art of communication is the language of leadership”  James Humes.

Welcome to my blog page which has been created as a portfolio for the ENGL301 Technical Writing course offered at the University of British Columbia. There are a multitude of critical skill sets in which you will need to be fluent in your professional life, ENGL301 has been designed to explore some of these skills to prepare students in a working environment.

Written Communication which is an integral part of how you represent yourself in the workplace. We will be lead through a serious of readings and activities that will allow us to practice. We are also encouraged to virtually engage with our peers by participating in reviewing their blogs.

Self-Editing is another crucial asset to bring with you as you set the foundations in an organization. I expect this course to elaborate on this skill in order to produce faultless communication in the future.

Time Management, the virtual, self paced delivery of this course will teach individuals to strengthen their discipline and commitment to getting through a university course, which in turn can be an important asset as COVID has evolved many jobs into virtual roles.

I am excited to use the assignments in this course to grow my online confidence, particularly polishing my LinkedIn page. I also look forward to the challenges of blogging my journey through this course which is unfamiliar to me.

I encourage you to get to know me by reading my bio, as I am sure I will have read yours!
