My name is Tanvi and I am an international student at UBC, Vancouver. I come from Mumbai, India. I intend to major in Economics and/or minor in Political Science.
This is my space to share my journey with you, and I hope it’d be an interesting or useful read!
I intend to use this space for a variety of reasons, some for me but most for you. I want my unique experiences to add to your own in a way that you can not only relate to it but also (hopefully) learn from it! This is because I truly feel that experiential learning is the best way of learning: sometimes through your own and sometimes through others’ experiences!

Public Relations Coordinator – UBC HOPE FOR HAPPINESS CLUB
-Act as a liaison between HFH (a team of 30 people) and the community
-Being passionate, managing reputation, gaining understanding and support for the organization -Collaborate with other UBC Student Groups and Community groups to create and run new events
-Obtain sponsorships from companies and/ private donations from community members
-Prepare sponsorship packages and letters with the help of the Marketing team
Global Lounge Officer
– Act as liaison between individual clubs and the Simon K.Y. Lee Global Lounge in order to facilitate dialogue, collaboration, and impact on the UBC community as a whole
– Responsible for informing the Global Lounge Network with updates as well as collaboration opportunities with other Network Members or Global Lounge specific updates
– Sponsorship to attend the Student Leadership Conference in January
– Attend GL training workshops for leadership and teamwork
UBC Floor Representative, HMSM House Council – Totem Park Residence Association
— Plan and ideate events for the house and TPRA to encourage an inclusive and united environment
— Attend and participate in training and leadership workshops throughout the year
— Manage social media platforms of HMSM house and TPRA platforms, make digital posters for events
Dancer – UBC JUNOON CLUB (Indian Bollywood Dance club)
–Dancer and representative after selection in audition for the UBC bollywood dance club
–Participating as part of the Junoon dance team in ‘Sitara’ – an international indian dance competition scheduled for February 2018 in Los Angeles, USA.
