A Day with Milo

Reflection:
My inspiration for this Twine story came from my dog, Milo, and the time we spend together every day. Over two weeks, I observed and tracked our daily interactions-from morning cuddles to walks, playtime, and quiet evenings. I used these real-life experiences to create a digital version of “A Day with Milo,” turning our everyday routines into an interactive story.
This project was both creative and educational. I learned to use Twine, a platform that encourages interactive storytelling where readers shape their own paths through choice. The process reminded me of constructivist learning theory, which emphasizes building knowledge through active engagement and personal experience (Piaget, 1972). By designing different story outcomes and experimenting with narrative flow, I learned through direct interaction and reflection-an approach consistent with Kolb’s experiential learning theory, where knowledge develops through a cycle of doing, reflecting, and applying new understanding (Kolb, 1984).
I found the project enjoyable because it allowed me to combine creativity with digital design. Even though I don’t have coding experience, I appreciated how Twine made storytelling accessible and engaging. The only challenge I faced was adding images; I wished there had been an easier, non-technical way to include visuals to better represent Milo’s personality and our adventures.
Despite that limitation, I am proud of my final story. It captures the warmth, playfulness, and companionship that Milo brings to my life while demonstrating how everyday experiences can be transformed into meaningful digital narratives. This task deepened my appreciation for interactive learning tools that merge creativity, storytelling, and technology to support hands-on, reflective learning.
