Guidelines for co-facilitation in partnership with CTLT facilitators

Most workshops offered through CTLT are co-facilitated.

We invite departments at UBC to be more involved in the design and the delivery of their own TA training programs. This involvement is often framed around co-facilitation by Faculty members, Senior TAs or the TA Training coordinator in their department with one of the CTLT facilitators.

Co-facilitation with CTLT involves:

  • 3 hours of preparation time for each hour of the workshop. This includes (but is not limited to):
    • initial meeting with co-facilitator
    • resource and materials development
    • developing and/or identifying theoretical framework for the workshop
    • and detailed design of the workshop
    • developing feedback form for the workshop
    • set-up and clean up before and after the workshop
  • Workshop facilitation
(this usually means an even division of facilitation tasks)
  • Active involvement in the facilitation of the workshop (leading learning activities as well as supporting the co-facilitator when leading learning activities)
