-we focused on community helpers, particularly the RCMP. The students got to do a similar project to the beaver that we had done on Canadian symbols where we find RCMP facts, put them onto a chart, and then create an RCMP craft. They turned out very cute!
-We were also so fortunate to have a member of the RCMP come to the school and talk with the students. This was such a cool experience -not only did he show the kids his different outfits and tools but we also got to go outside and take a look in his police car! (Funny enough the students were on their best behaviour with him in the room!)

-We had our field trip to the library! The students all got to sign up for their very own library card and pick out a book. The library is not very far away so we walked there. This actually added an extra bonus for our community unit because we got to explore all the things we see in our community on the way to the library.
