-Math Stations -It definitely took a lot of work to create the math stations but in the end I found it incredibly valuable. I could see students helping one another and it gave me a chance to assess them doing various techniques we’ve learnt in non-standard measurement over the last 5 weeks. I only have pictures of 3 of the stations although their were 5 in total. Three covered measuring objects (height & length) with different non-standard units, one covered measuring area, and the other required using our some vocabulary we have practiced (short, shorter, shorest, long, longer, longest etc.).
In this station students measured the length & height of different fish using bubbles!
In this station students measured different classroom objects with squares & then used the information to arrange objects from shortest to longest.
In this station student measured the height of monsters using both paperclips & cubes.
In this station students used pattern blocks to fill the entire area of different shapes (some of which they created themselves!).
