Week 2 spectrum analyzer memo
Last week we have started the basic design of our Spectrum analyzer, and we have assigned and clarified each member’s responsibilities. In this week, we are about to let each individual fit into each task and start building things.
Weekly objectives
- Finish PCB design and test performance
- Build amplifier and calculate gain, resistance and capacitance value of the amplifier
- Work on LabView and build a rough circuit block diagram
- Implement LT5538, the peak detector, solder by using reflow oven
Challenges
- LT5538 is a really tiny chip, hard to solder
- Learn how to use LabView and understand how each block function
Next Week Itinerary
- Combine everything together and adjust value of each block include crystal ladder, amplifier, LabView block.
- Try to make the spectrum analyzer work perfectly
In this week, we have discussed each individual’s responsibility and started working on each specific task. Also, we have brought the chips for peak detector and we need to solder them on board and test it. Also, we need to start working on LabView, try to understand what we need to build for the software part and how do they work. Wish we can warp up things ahead and leave more time for testing and fixing things.
