I started off coaching at my elementary school to give back to the school that I attended and played basketball for which was Jessie Lee in South Surrey I coached 5 years from 2009-2014. What I was able to do there was create easy effective plays for young players to understand. Mentoring young players mind to make higher IQ players. Running practice to train and gain skill and coaching the team to victory on game days. More importantly making them successful for high school basketball. This lead me to job as a coach for a basketball club based out of Surrey. This is where I learn how to improve players so their skills are good enough to play University basketball in Canada or the United States.
During my practicum I coached the grade 8 boys’ basketball team at JN Burnett from November to February both before and after school. I also volunteered my time to supervise, coach, and mentor student athletes during weekend tournaments bring home the 2015 Hugh Boyd tournament trophy.
