Sorry, I haven’t been really constant lately so I will share two sounds with you today to apologize.
Let’s focus on a Canadian guy today maybe you already know him. His name is Kaytranada and he comes from Montréal. He’s one of the few that manage to mix and match the two opposite hipster & rap worlds, let’s call it a hipstrap. Cuz’, once you’ve heard these drumming basses and bewitching voices you’re totally trapped.

Today’s sound reminds me a bit of the day I left Paris to Vancouver two months ago. The song starts softly with some nagging strident pikes that you could find in an horror movie – It’s me leaving my family at the airport, waving my hand for a last goodbye.
However, soon, the song take-off and so I am. The 9-hour flight passes in a moment and the rythm keeps speeding up. I’m in Vancouver now and the vocals represents all the magic of the place. Eyes wide open, I enjoy a nice warming sun (no, it’s not a myth) on my skin and embrace the whole panorama from Jericho Beach.

Today’s sound is related to actuality as the group MNDR is playing tomorrow in Vancouver at the Fortune Sound Club.
MNDR is an electronic duo formed in Brooklyn, NYC by Amanda Warner and Peter Wade. The shiny voice of their song contrasts with the darkness of their bass and create an off-key sound that just pop in your hear and make you feel shaky.
