Hello, I am Timothy a 4th year student in the Bachelor of Science (Biology) program at the University of British Columbia. I was never interested in Biology but little did I know that my entire university life would be dedicated to uncovering the mysteries of the human body. It was in Grade 11 when I was given a piglet to be dissected that I begun to marvel at the intricate design of all the little organs in the animal and though each is unique in structure and function, they were all interconnected. It was then that my passion for Biology exploded.

As an enthusiast in the field of Biology, I volunteer at the local UBC hospital in the department of neuro-immunology. Here, I work hand-in-hand with doctors and lab technicians in providing specialized services such as antibody testing for patients affected with neuro-immunological disorders. In the summer months, instead of taking summer courses, I spend several weeks at the Tacoma Valley Radiation Oncology Center in Seattle. There, I job-shadow doctors to learn about the different types of radiation therapy and treatments for cancer using state-of-the-art technology.

Professionally, I am hoping to find work in the business side of biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies. I am passionate about bridging the gap between science and business in hopes of improving public health by providing more effective and efficient health care services.
