For those of you who have stumbled across our blog without knowing what in the world Arts One is, here’s the answer. Arts One is basically a unique program at UBC which allows first-year students to read a lot of amazing books and improve on our writing. It also gives us the opportunity to come up with a bunch of inside jokes related to the texts we’re reading.
We are in the stream called Seeing and Knowing. What this means is that we’ll be studying books, films etc. that have something to do with this theme. We are also in the seminars led by Professor Robert Crawford on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We hope to post more about our adventures in class as the year goes on.
