I always loved going to the circus. I loved everything about it from the clowns, acrobats and the pure joy that it brought. But what I enjoyed most of all were the exotic animals performing incredible and unbelievable stunts. There were elephants standing on small platforms, it was amazing to see such a large animal standing on their hind feet.

Could it possibly be, behind the bright lights, glitter and joy that circuses bring lies shameful acts of abuse, mistreatment and neglect to the welfare of animals?
Was it natural for elephants to stand and perform acts like that?
Is it ethical to place our enjoyment over the welfare of circus animals?
