Collage Creations

IMG_4542The first challenge for our art class was to collect different shades of purple from a collection of magazines. The purple group was up to the challenge and cut, ripped and sorted until we had a variety of shades.  We then arranged them according to colour gradient (dark to light). All of our work was directed towards the task of creating something that can be found underwater. After some discussion we settled on an image of a jellyfish. We used shading to add effects to our jellyfish, such as the darkest pieces as the under belly and the lighter shades for the top and legs. We used the torn edges of the paper to add texture and sleeker lines to add definition to our work. We were quite proud of our creation! Each of the groups had a unique piece to share and we were quite impressed by the colourful aquarium we created in the class.

4. Converse as a group about the type of creation tomake.

5. Begin constructing an image keeping in mind the use of colour gradient in your image.
