To later have learned that one of the chefs I follow is a social entrepreneur was a encouraging.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Jamie Oliver's Website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jamieoliver.com\/ \" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Jamie Oliver<\/span><\/a>. This British chef is a restaurateur and media personality. He is never far away from the kitchen as he is a significant figure in the <a title=\"Campaigns\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jamieoliver.com\/foundation\/ \" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">campaign<\/span><\/a> against the use of processed foods in schools, and campaigns to develop a more healthy diet and cooking habits. He has also helped young underprivileged people by teaching them how to cook, which would allow them to develop skills as they transitions in to the restaurant business in <a title=\"Jamie's Kitchen\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zSQoJV2QP9k \" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Jamie\u2019s Kitchen<\/em><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jamie Oliver has not only focused his efforts towards the United Kingdom, but also in the United States. In the first season of <a title=\"Jamie's Food Revolution: Huntington, West Virgnia\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=f8CF15HJJ-0 \" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Jamie\u2019s Food Revolution<\/em><\/span><\/a>, he targets Huntington, West Virginia, named as the Unhealthiest City in America. His efforts are focused at teaching Americans about better eating habits in order to reduce the diabetes rate, especially towards children. Essentially, he wants to \u201csave America\u2019s health by changing the way [they] eat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He has won numerous <a title=\"Awards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jamieoliver.com\/about\/jamie-oliver-biog\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">awards <\/span><\/a>such as the BAFTA Award for <em>The Naked Chef<\/em>, TED Prize, British Hospitality Association Award, and Global Citizen Award for the South Beach Food &amp; Wine Festival among other things.<\/p>\n<p>For these reasons, Jamie Oliver is a social entrepreneur because his efforts are aimed towards the benefit of society through his campaigns for healthy eating habits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a child, I was very interested [and still am] in the culinary arts and followed a variety of chefs on the Food Channel.
