The vagabondage of materials like driftwood enables the construction of structures and thus communities, in remote locations. The project establishes a fictional context that highlights key concepts critical to understanding the impact of the migration of people, objects and ideas. Water transport and water immersion of timber enhance the quality of certain types of wood. Construction workers even believe the driftprocess makes a harder and more permeable wood. The combination of different logs of driftwood is therefore an ecological alternative exploiting the density, strength, flexibility and grain of different species.<\/p>\n
Camp Fircom proposes the computation and use of driftwood logs for the construction of its new storage pavilion and lookout structure. The new building plays with heavy and light structural elements, permeable and constricted views and full and hollow spaces while connecting the land to the water.<\/p>\n
