Wang Wang Dog Shelter is a private, no-kill dog shelter. Currently there are approximately 200 dogs in shelter. Inside the shelter, there are blocks that separate the dogs. There are 8-20 dogs in one block. Each block is separated from the other by fence and has inside and outdoor areas. The funding depends on donation. Only 2 workers permanently work in the shelter so it’s highly dependent on the long-term volunteers. If there is no infectious disease spreading, the most common disease is skin disease and the infection caused by wounds from dog fight (Honey Chang, personal communication, March 1st, 2013). Except the issue of euthanasia, this shelter has many problems similar to other animal shelters in Taiwan.
