The following section showcases my best works from the ENGL301 course assignments.
NOTE: Each assignment has been revised and edited according to peer feedback and overall personal reviewing.
Creating a Blog
The first assignment this course was to create a blog introducing ourselves as students as well as a location to submit assignments and reflections. Below is a link to the blog created.
Application for a Technical Writing Team
An important assignment this term was to form a technical writing group composed of four students. An application letter was created to introduce ourselves as excellent candidates to other peers, as well as highlight our skill sets. Below is a link to the application letter and memorandum submitted for this assignment.
A second requirement of this assignment was to invite three peers by email to form a technical writing group, below are the three emails send to my team members.
Different Methods of Defining a Term
This assignment required defining a relatively complex term that relates to our profession by using the three definition methods; parenthetical, sentence and expanded. The objective was to successfully define a term to a specified audience.
Definitions for the Term: Real Property
The next component was to review a peer’s definitions and offer feedback. Below is a peer review of my peer’s definition on an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Linkedin Best Practices
Marketing your professional capabilities is an important habit to have during today’s technologically dependent world. This assignment challenged students to research and study techniques for professional networking and building an online profile with LinkedIn. A second lesson in this assignment was to avoid the use of imperative verbs in order to offer more positive insight.

Writing Samples with a YOU-Attitude
YOU-Attitude writing refers to a style of writing where the reader’s needs is prioritized. Students were able to try writing with a YOU-Attitude when writing to Evan Crisp, a student writing to a professor who has experienced disspointment when the professor does not respond. This assignment required students to email Evan a helpful tips memorandum when writing professionally and academically.
Applying YOU-Attitude writing to real-life situations can ensure higher changes of a positive outcomes. For this assignment, students played the part of both writing a complaint as well as the person in charge of replying to the complaint letter with bad news.

Formal Report
Stage 1: Preparing a Research Proposal
The first step in finalizing the formal report was finding a topic and delivering the idea for approval. The proposal and memorandum submitted can be found in the following links.
Formal Report Proposal Memorandum
We were asked to carefully examine all elements of our peer’s overall document and offer feedback on excellence as well as offering comments that indicate suggestions for improvements. Below is the peer review to Helene Tran’s proposal for expanding the ‘Lift the Lip’ fluoride varnish program.

Stage 2: Compiling an Outline
This step was simple, straight forward, however extremely necessary. The outline was a great way to organize the data sections for easy compilation of data interpretations in the draft.
Stage 3: Submitting a Progress Report
Upon creating an outline for the research, this memorandum acted as a means of reporting the progress of the report.

Stage 5: The Final Version
The last step of this intensive project was to use our peer reviewer’s comment and finalize the draft. Below is the completed document.
