Please share this with your schools to include on their websites and bulletin boards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h4 id=\"template\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Email Templates<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Below are the email templates that can be used for communication to your teachers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/trainers\/files\/2022\/10\/Template-Message-to-Teachers-about-the-EDI.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\">For distributing the Teacher Letter and Teacher Checklist.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Step 7:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/trainers\/files\/2022\/10\/Template-Send-Home-Parent-Guardian-Informed-Passive-Consent-Letters.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">For distributing the Parent\/Guardian Informed Passive Consent Letters.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Step 9:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/trainers\/files\/2024\/09\/Template-Invitation-to-HELP-led-Teacher-Training.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">For asking teachers to register for the Teacher Training Webinar.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Step 10:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/trainers\/files\/2024\/10\/Template-Reminder-to-Complete-EDIs.docx\">To encourage teachers to complete the EDI questionnaire.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h4 id=\"consent\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Parent\/Guardian Informed Passive Consent Letter<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>To prepare your parent\/guardian letters for distribution, please: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Place letters on School District letterhead.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Fill out the highlighted sections which include the district contact information at the end, as well as the due date on the parent\/guardian withdrawal form (last page).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Send out letters prior to the winter break so that parents\/guardians are given <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>4 weeks<\/strong><\/span> to withdraw their students.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">As an ongoing effort to reach Indigenous communities, we recommend that you insert a word of welcome or thanks to the First Nation\u2019s territory that you live and work in. Typically, districts will utilize their Indigenous Principal for this note and will look to have it in the local Indigenous language. This short note can be added to the beginning or end of the Parent\/Guardian Informed Passive Consent letter.<\/li>\n<li>Remember that participation in the EDI is voluntary for parents\/guardians and for teachers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>English &#8211;
