If so, please read your training requirements below. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If you have experience with the EDI questionnaire, please click <a href=\"#experience\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Download the Teacher Checklist <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/trainers\/files\/2025\/10\/EDI-Teacher_Checklist-2025-26-1.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/trainers\/files\/2025\/10\/EDI-Teacher_Checklist-2025-26-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">Training for Teachers New to the EDI questionnaire<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure you are prepared to complete the EDI questionnaire in February, we require any teachers who are new to the questionnaire to participate in a training session.&nbsp;Depending on your school or school district, teachers new to the EDI questionnaire will participate in either an in-person, half-day training session organized by their district&nbsp;<strong>OR<\/strong>&nbsp;a 1-hour webinar training session hosted by HELP in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your School\/School District EDI Lead will notify you of the training options available to you.&nbsp;If an in-person training session is planned, they will provide you with the details for the session via email.&nbsp;Otherwise, you will be asked to register for a training webinar hosted by HELP.&nbsp;If this is the case, please register for one of the following two date options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00bb <a href=\"https:\/\/ubc.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_RV5riuqYRe-lbFgXo-WN1g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 3:30-4:30pm PST<\/a><br>\u00bb<a href=\"https:\/\/ubc.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_4Xh8PDAwRbG_apFpv28OIA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 3:30-4:30pm PST<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Within 24 hours of the last webinar, the recording will be posted here for your review. We require experienced teachers to watch the following refresher videos and have prepared a reference document to support you with the Indigenous related questions in the questionnaire that you can review. HELP is building a comprehensive list of First Nations, M\u00e9tis Nation Homeland (including M\u00e9tis Settlements and historic M\u00e9tis communities), and Inuit Nunangat communities and all their spoken languages. You can find this list <a href=\"https:\/\/earlylearning.ubc.ca\/app\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Indigenous-Nations-and-Languages-List-Jul2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> and it will be available within the questionnaire as well. This list is not used to infer a child\u2019s language or Indigenous identity. Please only answer those questions according to what the parents\/caregivers have told you or the school.
