I’m Verna, a third year undergraduate at UBC. I major in International Relations and minor in Asian Area Studies. I devour musicals for breakfast and regency novels like tea.
This blog will detail my adventures to Japan – now, why Japan?
I am going to Tokyo and Sapporo as part of the Kakehashi Project/”Japan Friendship Ties Program” organized by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Twenty-one UBC and University of Victoria students, including me, will spend a week in Japan doing a bit of everything: visiting places including governments, cultural sites and manufacturing plants.
I plan to share some of the things I’ve learnt about Japan and the experiences here. Also, I hope this will help any students who are planning to apply for the Kakehashi Project as part of their own university’s group.
Be sure to check out the rest of our group’s blogs at www.kakehashi2016.wordpress.com.
