Form: cylindric-conic, rounded with age, stiff tiers or whorled branches

Conditions: sun, well drained soil, rich, moisture retentive soil, tolerates wind, summer drought

Leaf: dark green, pointed, spirally arranged, scale like leaves

Fall: none

Flower: none

Cone: male-drooping cones, female-huge globose seed cones, volleyball sized

Limits: intolerant of shade, atmospheric pollution, poor drainage, difficult to grow

Suitable uses: specimen

Native to: southern Chile, Argentina
