Google is the most popular search engine in the world and it is the site that we almost reach every day. From business point of view, Google becomes a powerful tools in e-marketing and some companies start to put recourses in improving their search results on Google. However, how much you know about Google search results? I have found a very interesting blog post that introduces the entire search results of Google.

In Google, there are 25 types of search results. The author categorized the search results into five features which are Local SERP features, Advertising and paid results, Knowledge Graph features, Vertical search results and Miscellaneous features. Under each features, different search results are clearly explained.

As a company, it is definitely useful to know all the possible search results before deciding the e-marketing plan, such as, joining the Google AdWords. By knowing all these features can also help us to make good use of the search engine and to reach different customers by different ways. As a user, we can make our search more effective

After reading this guide, it let me know that although it is done in seconds, Google search results are not simple at all. Since I am working for a music sharing site in one of my school project, it is interesting to know that Google has a feature called List Carousel which is specially for music-related search.

Recently, I have read an article and a short YouTube video about social insights with Mr Yann Gourvennec. He is a European expert in social business. He also wrote the book “Social Media Taught To My Boss” which was one of the most influential digital book of 2012 in France. He has been the member of socialmedia.org since 2008 and co-founded Media Aces which is the French Association for enterprise and social media. He has been sharing his insight and knowledge on how social media influence the business and how to make good use of the Internet.

In the video and article that I have come across, he shares his view of how social media should be done in business and the future of digital media and communications. I totally agreed and inspired by his opinions. One of the points that I want to share is that in order to let your company and products to be lovable, you should be interested in other people opinions and in other people intereests. Although more and more companies are start to involve in social media, some of them are just following what others are doing and are not truely understand how and what siocal media can bring you. They just aim in getting likes but not turelu underdstand the use of social media.

The second point that I want to share is that digital media is a proper discipline that requires skills and experiences. Have you come across some games and advertisements on Facebook or other digital media you think are annoying and lame? What do you think if a social media campaign that only contains few participates and follows? Negative effect can be easily resulted in unsuccessful social media campaigns. Therefore, companies should not overlook the management of social media and social media training within an enterprise may become a trend in the future.
