Hi Division 3!
I flew back from Fredericton, New Brunswick yesterday and I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning. We will start our day with a peace circle meeting to check-in before we move into lessons and work cycle. 🙂

Math
Math Notebooks are due on FRIDAY this week.
Since this week is a short week, all students will ensure that they are caught up on Problem Solving. Students who are caught up will have the option to continue on. Problem Solving is due on Friday.
Language
There will be no new spelling or spelling tests. Since I was away, we are using this as a catch-up week.
Our Writer’s Workshop interview assignment has been ongoing for the past 2 weeks. The students have been paired and will conduct an interview of a student they are less familiar with.
This Writer’s Workshop assignment will be mostly completed in class (depending on time management skills). The final published copy is due by 3:00pm Friday October 13th.
Culture
While I was away the students worked on their Cell Poster Projects. I am so excited to see what they came up with and how they did! Students will finish their cell projects by FRIDAY at 3pm. Hopefully next week we will move on to the study of our prokaryotic friends: bacteria and archaea. Ask your child what a prokaryotic cell is or if you are a student tell your parent what you know about prokaryotes!
Physical Education
This week we will continue our unit on fitness and implement goal setting.
Art Education
Our Artist in Residence session #3 is this Thursday October 12th from 2:00-3:00pm. I missed the first two sessions while I was away, but began a journal of collections while at home. I am looking forward to being a part of the action this week.
Remember to bring in your collections for Thursday afternoon.
Classroom Community
Mr. Sheldon, our school counsellor, will be working with us using social emotional games on Thursday morning from 10:00-10:40.
Finish Fridays will start this week. If you are not finished your work by Friday at lunch you will be staying in at lunch to finish. If you are not finished by 3pm you will be staying after school.
