We will begin listening to the CBC podcast “The World this Hour” (4 minutes) to learn how to pull important information out of a news broadcast. This skill requires time and we will be spending Tuesday and Thursday afternoons learning how to take notes and listen for important stories.
Culture
Every week we will be studying a new body system. Students will be required to create a representation or model of each body system. This week we will begin studying the skeletal system. This could be in the form of a detailed drawing, a pasta model, plasticine and cardboard model, construction paper collage, or an online representation using technology etc.
French
We will continue reading The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. We will read chapters 4-6 in English and study some of the more famous quotations from those chapters in French. Through this study, students will be learning common, high-frequency vocabulary and sentence structures.
