Monday June 11th: Students must have their poem chosen for memorization and recital on June 25th

Wednesday June 13th: Spring Concert Recital

Rehearsal in the afternoon. Concert from 5:45pm-7:45pm. Please wear white tops and black/dark bottoms.

Forms and money for sports day snacks due today!

Friday June 15th: Sports Day

Monday June 18th: Tyee Talent Show in the morning.  This week, Division 3 will be putting together various talent acts to share with our school community.

Monday June 25th, 1:30-3:00pm: Poetry Cafe and end of year celebration in Division 3 and outdoor classroom space.  All families welcome.  Feel free to bring a treat or snack to share.  Please email hlangille@vsb.bc.ca to let me know if you will be joining us for the afternoon.

WEEKLY WORK

Math

Math Notebooks will be due on Thursday this week.

PS: geometry work will be due on Friday as usual.

Language

We will continue to study and write poetry for the last 4 weeks of school! Students are asked to bring in the lyrics of their favourite song for Monday’s Writer’s Workshop lesson on poetry.  Please bring in a hard copy of your song.

Poetry Booklet Project: Students will be creating their own poetry booklet of poems.  Grade 4 students are responsible for writing and including 4 poems with artwork, grade 5 students are responsible for 5 poems with artwork, and grade 6 students are responsible for 6 poems with artwork.  Poetry Booklets are due Friday June 22nd.

Poetry Slam Recital: Students will choose a poem to learn and memorize and will recite to the class as part of a poetry slam on Tuesday June 26th.  Students must have their poem chosen and approved by me by June 11th.
