How did the emotion of pride evolve?
\nThere are two paths that led to us standing tall.
\nOne based on dominance, acquired through fear,
\nCalled Hubristic Pride- it makes negativity draw near:
\nHe holds his position by with-holding acquisition
\ncontrolling rights of others through resource suppression.
\nThe antisocial ape with his intimidation;
\nDon\u2019t get stuck in a relationship with someone who is skilled in the art of inflation.<\/p>\n
The second path- Authentic Pride reflects positivity and the desired traits in a social hierarchy.
\nThese people are respected for their skills and success and always willing to lend a hand for others to do their best.
\nThe friendly, prosocial emotion backing up altruism is much more attractive than the other narcissism.<\/p>\n
I once knew a man who was full of self-love, he blinded and cheated his way to above.
\nConvincing himself he is more than pure gold, he let his personality become rot with mould.
\nConvinced that he is the ultimate king
\nwho is going to buy his queen a diamond ring
\nNow, because he moulded our relationship so near, to one where I couldn\u2019t escape based on fear
\nAfraid of his manipulations grasping my soul he projected his insecurities on myself
\ntaking the toll that a million toxic mushrooms couldn\u2019t make.
\nI shed so many tears for his sake.<\/p>\n
Until one day I had enough,
\na second look at the situation would rebuff and gain back the confidence that he took away,
\nFrom the broken person I was to the brick wall today.<\/p>\n
Hubristic and Authentic Pride
\nWhen two worlds collide evolution won\u2019t let it slide
\nBoth are the means of opposite personalities
\nAnd one adopts the image of a distorted reality.
\nI\u2019d rather be the one who helps, encouraging mend, than feeling fake strength for chaining a friend, for holding them down, for making them cry, for seeing pain in something weaker than I.<\/p>\n

Pride is a self-conscious feeling and it\u2019s easy to tell when someone is concealin
\nBody language speaks for your reticence even though we try to cover it all up in our defence.
\nWhy do humans hide what they feel inside? Its futile for we\u2019re all headed on the same ride.
\nThe paucity of willingness to reveal our thought is an anomaly and psychology
\nhelps to concentrate on contemplation of oddly-mannered youth with a flick-fired tongue:
\nMachiavellian and deviant from an age young
\nWith alacrity growing up to harm others with conceit
\nAnd then it\u2019s too late to help them make their ends meet.
\nAbout the social nature we must be benevolent
\nOr at least innocuous because natural selection isn\u2019t heaven-sent.<\/p>\n
So distinguish yourself from the controlling ape
\nWho will try to dominate through violence and loud
\nNo need to fear the duplicity of being proud
\nOne lingering in the shadow \u2013 the other standing out in the crowd.<\/p>\n
